Lauryn & Hayes - Engaged

What a wonderful and fun couple! During this whole session I literally could not stop smiling because their personalities are contagious, they kept laughing and joking around which was great for all of us! Hayes is very laid back and really wanted to just bum around the French Quarter for some relaxed candid pictures and Lauryn was fine with that too. The only request was that we stop along the way for refreshments, which of course we did. Starting at Pat O's in the Quarter with a taste of the famous Hurricane we then ventured to walk the streets and ended up finding a Lucky Dog stand in Jackson Square, which is somewhat rare. It was so cute how they shared a bite and I found out that it's one of their favorite stops when visiting New Orleans. The last spot for a sweet taste of beignet's was of course Café Du Monde where it was VERY crowded but, luckily we got the perfect corner table after just a few minutes of waiting. Overall the afternoon was very fun, relaxed and perfect weather... a great day to celebrate young love :)

Meet Lisa & Jerad

Lisa and Jerad's Wedding is fast approaching and we had been trying to schedule these Engagement Photo's for a while. Since Jerad works offshore, typically when the weather is nice he is working which means it's a challenge to schedule anything! Thank goodness Lisa, Jerad and I have just been very flexible and kept plugging away at different dates knowing something had to work out eventually. Well we finally had our afternoon @ the French Quarter / Riverfront area since the reception is at Pat O's and, yes it was raining that day! Of course this makes sense because if it was sunny and nice weather we would probably be missing our very important Guy.... Despite the weather we went to all the fun spots and hung out for a few hours walking, relaxing, laughing & to cure our rainy blues, stopped to grab a Daiquiri :)

Here are a few of my Favorites....

A New Orleans Family Session

My dear sweet Family! It's something like this that makes me so happy to have the career I have chosen in life. These are the type of shots that say Family to me. Fun, happy, laid back and just plain cute! Gerald & Noelle (New Orleans Natives) and their beautiful girls Kate and Meg took some time out of their vacation to hang out with me in the Quarter and we had a blast! We luckily happened on a street that was clear of cars for street cleaning - love Tuesdays for that - and got a great shot of them walking and taking in the beautiful architecture. Then it was on to Café du Mondé for some coffee & beignets, then a quick stop in Jackson Square where the girls turned on the charm and talked a nice man into letting us take a quick shot in his carriage. These girls are somethin else I'm telling you... I love them to death! Love to my cousins, I hope you enjoy these...

Looking back on the BEST OF 2011 WEDDINGS!

For the first time in about 2 weeks since the kids have been home from school for vacation, today I am finally getting to blog! I was going through some files, cleaning things out, getting ready for the new year and thought to myself... it would be fun to put up my favorites from this year in weddings. I do not always have time to post a blog from each wedding so now having no time constraints, I felt it allowed me to really go through these images with a viewpoint of which ones really captured emotion, the Bride & Groom, parents and guests in a unique way, and some really beautiful details of course :) The original edit for this was about 170 or so images but I tried to narrow it down a bit more from there, it was very hard! Thank you to all the couples who let me into their lives for this special time and I look forward to capturing more amazing memories this year in 2012~
*some of these images were taken in partnership with Arte De Vie photography as a second shooter. Thank you CheyAnne for a great year!
